SCOPE
Today, the amount of digital data generated through various sources continues to explode. Gigabytes of data, if not terabytes and petabytes, are produced and stored daily creating a huge and growing volume of data of different formats and extracted from very heterogeneous sources such as smart devices, social networks, sensors, electronic services, etc. This emergence has created an urgent need for intelligent systems to collect, store, analyze and visualize this data. Current AI technologies are used in a set area of applications, ranging from healthcare, manufacturing, transport, energy, to financial services, banking, advertising, management consulting and government agencies. To meet these needs, new research themes focused on data sciences have emerged. These themes are under the global theme of artificial intelligence and data science and include Big Data, Cloud Computing, Machine Learning etc.
Data sciences and AI augment and amplify human potentials, increase productivity and are moving from simple reasoning towards human-like cognitive abilities. Data science enables the resolution of complex analytical problems and responds to companies’ and organizations’ needs by processing and analyzing data in order to ensure a better decision-making.
To support this progress, many institutions are invited to discover and develop the benefits of these technologies in order to make the most of them.
The School of Information Sciences www.esi.ac.ma and the Research Center on Information and Data Sciences (RCIDS) organize the International Conference on Smart Systems and Data ICSSD’21 on 28, 29 and 30 October at ESI in Rabat, Morocco.
ICSSD’21 aims to bring together researchers, industrialists and internationally renowned professionals around themes related to Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and their applications in various fields including health, transport, energy, tourism, telecommunication etc.
Researchers and experts in the field of data science and smart systems focus on challenging issues related to the design and development of innovative techniques to achieve data analysis within smart systems. ICSSD’21 provides a leading international forum for the dissemination of original research in data science, with emphasis on applications as well as novel smart systems proposition.
Seeking for a huge research success, the conference aims to attract researchers and application developers from a wide range of data science and smart systems related areas.
ICSSD’21 has set the goal to combine data and information science technologies and techniques in theoretical and practical applications, while allowing a constructive exchange around the key issues of data science. Contributions describing data science techniques applied to real-world problems and interdisciplinary research involving data science and Smart Systems, experimental and/or theoretical studies yielding new insights into the design of novel approaches are very welcomed. In addition, papers describing development of new analytical frameworks that advance practical data science methods and smart systems technologies are especially encouraged.
