International Conference on Smart Systems and Data science 2019 : ICSSD’19

L’Ecole des Sciences de l’Information  organizes the International Conference on Smart Systems and Data ICSSD’19 on October 3 and 4, 2019 at ESI in Rabat, Morocco.

The conference provides a leading international forum for the dissemination of original research in data science, with emphasis on applications as well as novel smart systems proposition.

Seeking for a huge research success, the conference aims to attract researchers and application developers from a wide range of data science and smart systems related areas. Furthermore, the current innovative emergence of Big Data processing brings an urgent need for data science and smart systems to address these new challenges. The conference will cover both data science and smart systems theoretical research as well as applications.

In fact, Data Science is the convergence of several disciplines and to name a few: statistics, artificial intelligence, algorithmic and data visualization are mainly involved in the application of data science techniques and their continuous development. Data science techniques aim to manage the huge and increasing amount of data available in different formats and that can be extracted from several heterogeneous sources such as: Smart Devices, Social Networks, Sensors, e-services, platforms, etc. Data science enables the resolution of complex analytical problems and responds to companies’ and organizations’ needs by processing and analyzing data in order to ensure a better decision-making. Researchers and experts in the field of data science and smart systems focus on challenging issues related to the design and development of innovative techniques to achieve data analysis within smart systems.

ICSSD’19 has set the goal to combine data and information science technologies and techniques in theoretical and practical applications, while allowing a constructive exchange around the key issues of data science.

Contributions describing data science techniques applied to real-world problems and interdisciplinary research involving data science and Smart Systems, experimental and/or theoretical studies yielding new insights into the design of novel approaches are very welcomed.  In addition, papers describing development of new analytical frameworks that advance practical data science methods and smart systems technologies are especially encouraged. Workshops and tutorials/code labs in data science and smart systems areas are also welcomed to submit their proposals.

His research interest focuses on Data and Model Management. He has co-authored more than 250 papers and received > 2732 citations (H-index=26). He serves as an Associate Editor of the Data & Knowledge (DKE) Journal, Elsevier, an Editorial Board of International Journal of Reasoning-based Intelligent Systems, Inderscience, Scalable Computing Journal, Springer and Computer Science and Information Systems Journal. He organized/co-organized numerous international and French Conferences and Workshops (ADBIS, DAWAK, ACM DOLAP, MEDI, IEEE SCC, IEEE Smart Data, WISE, EDA, BDA). He has acted as an evaluator for funding agencies in Algeria, France, EU, Czech Republic, Kazakhstan, and the Netherlands. Pr. Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni is Professor at Sorbonne University – Faculty of Science and Engineering. She is currently in delegation to the CNRS. She is a researcher at LIP6 where she leads the Multi-Agent Systems team and co-animates the Artificial Intelligence and Data Science research areas (covering human and machine learning, deep learning, automatic decision, intelligent agents and multi-agent systems, etc.).

Her research in Artificial Intelligence focuses on the design of autonomous systems and ambient intelligent applications and currently developing an approach based on cognitive agents and multi-agent systems. This includes coordination models (negotiation, distributed planning, interaction protocols) and spatio-temporal design of contextual systems based on adaptation and individual and Collective learning. Her research themes find many applications in the fields of the design of complex systems (e.g. future gates), simulation (e.g. urban), contextual applications and smart cities (e.g. intelligent wizards). These applications are supported by many industrial partnerships and international collaborations.

Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni has also held several scientific responsibilities in leading international organizations; she was the general Chair at AAMAS 2020, a Track Chair at AAMAS 2019 and IJCAI 2019, Chair of the Program Committee APIA 2019 and 2020 and an elected member to IFAAMAS and EURAMAS boards. She has also led the research work of more than 30 PhD students and has published numerous books and papers in the best conferences of Artificial Intelligence and Multi-Agent Systems (for more details, see http: // www-poleia / elfallah ~ /

Ali SIADAT received his PhD in robotics and digital signal processing from Institut National Polytechnique de Lorraine in France. He stated his carrier as associate professor in computer and industrial engineering at Arts et Metiers ParisTech and became full professor in 2016 at the same engineering school. Since 2011, he is head of applied mathematics and computer Engineering department. He served also as Guest Professor in several universities in China, Iran, Morocco and Brazil. His research interests include artificial intelligence, information system, knowledge formalization and operations research applied to manufacturing fields. He has published over than 40 papers in distinguished scientific journals and more than 70 papers in international conferences and he supervised more than 20 PhD theses. Pr. Siadat is actively involved in Factories of the Future program in France and his research activities are drive usually with international collaborations and very closed to industries (STMicroelectronics, Siemens, PSA, …). His new research projects interest to integrated human factors to optimization of production systems.
